Okay, so MANY times we have said..."we only moved 2 miles out of town NOT 20!!" But, sometimes it seems we have moved 20 when we say things like, "I'm driving into town do you need anything?" Upon moving out here in the dead of winter I was overwhelmed with the thoughts that I had moved into a HOTEL...not a HOME...but I think slowly but surely this is truly becoming home. We are VERY thankful for our new digs and the kids have NEVER looked back and longed for our old house which is a blessing to their mom who DOES NOT embrace change on ANY LEVEL! UGH! Here are some of the things I am REALLY enjoying about our new place:
~ We have wood laminate in our upper hallway and when the kids are upstairs playing it is SO MUCH FUN to hear them STAMPEDING (and I mean it...it sounds like a stampede!)up and down the hallways just enjoying the space.
~They ride the bus to school in the morning and as Bob and I stand in the dining room window watching them (at the end of the driveway) wait for the bus...we have laughed until we cried watching Mitchell lead all of them (sans Sam) in a rendition of DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION! Hilarious!
~The basement is a space they all love and they go down there and just go nuts...playing with the dogs and toys down there.
~If there is the slightest hint of sunshine, the kids come home from school and head out to play in the woods immediately!
~The wildlife is amazing...we have a herd of deer, raccoons,a shy red fox, LOTS of cats from neighboring farms (Emma has named one P.T.)and the funniest animal friend is the neighbors have a rooster (Foghorn Leghorn) who for the first few weeks we lived here crowed about 1 PM in the afternoon and now has started crowing at a more ROOSTER-like and appropriate yet respectful time of 7:30 a.m.!
