I do NOT live on a farm.
I am surrounded by farms which allows me to
PRETEND I live on a farm right?
I live THREE miles outside our village. When I drive into town I announce it as if it will take THREE days to get there and that I am going into town with my horse drawn wagon to buy supplies. You know, like...large bags of flour, sugar and hard tack (umm what is that? It popped into my head after having been a Little House on the Prairie groupie 35 years ago) you get it though...
SUPPLIES!
I always THOUGHT I would make a good farmer.
Bob, once, ALMOST bought a pig farm. YEP, it's true. (THAT is another post altogether!)
I am thankful that I get to hang out with the farm animals...they are awesome.
We loved our neighbor goats...BUT they had to go as they kept jumping out of the pasture... they would come to our front porch! I swear they ACT like dogs!
This handsome fellow likes to have his nose scratched. We have nine horses in the pasture next door...it is such a treat to watch them romp and run.
This little feathered creature is handsome but as MEAN as a snake...BUT stopped running around long enough for me to take his photo. Have I mentioned the PERK of fresh eggs? OH MY! There is NO comparison to store bought FOR CERTAIN!
We are surrounded by corn and soy beans...and it is time for harvest. We always feel a little
NAKED when it all comes down!
ALL these furry creatures are in residence here at The Glen and in my book THAT makes us farmers for SURE....or maybe just a little bit crazy.
